1.) Each sheet of rice paper is soaked, then aged or dyed by hand, using tea bags, coffee or colored dyes.
2.) Once dried, sheets are mounted to canvas
Transit Lines & Metallic Design
The design is sketched in advance to ensure adequate spacing between the transit lines and an appropriate balance of open space.
3.) Lines are carefully hand painted to ensure parallel lineage.
4.) Gold or silver leaf is delicately applied using special adhesive and a fine brush.
5.) A finishing solution is applied to the piece for a satin finish. Metallic dimension is maintained throughout the finish process by using a delicate brush.
Depending on size, completion of a piece can take 4 to 12 hours from prep to finish.
